Love, Laughter, and Cozy Halloween Moments
π Happy Halloween Week! π»
I can’t believe how fast time is flying — seriously, where did the year go?! It feels like just yesterday summer was winding down, and now we’re right in the middle of Halloween week.
π€ Pajama Day Fun
Landen’s school is kicking off Spirit Week, and today is Pajama Day! There’s something so heartwarming about seeing the kids (and teachers!) cozy, playful, and excited to start the week with a little fun.
I even caught Landen grinning ear-to-ear, rocking his Snoopy pajamas — and he even wanted to bring his soft blanket to channel his inner Linus. Honestly, I couldn’t blame him; if I could bring my blanket to work, I’d do it too! ππΆ
π Reflections on Love
This week has also given me a chance to reflect on how lucky life has been lately. After my divorce, I honestly never thought I’d find love again — but here I am, almost a year into a wonderful relationship with my boyfriend, TJ. Our anniversary is coming up on November 16th, and every day I’m reminded that life sometimes surprises you in the most beautiful ways.
TJ is kind, patient, and steady. He keeps me grounded, lifts me up, and somehow always knows the right thing to say when I feel overwhelmed. For example, the other day I was stressing about a pile of paperwork, and he just handed me a cup of coffee with a grin and said, “You’ve got this… and if not, we’ll just pretend the paperwork is a pumpkin spice latte.” Moments like that make me laugh, breathe, and appreciate him even more.
There’s so much I could say about him, but I won’t spoil the special anniversary blog letter I’ve been working on — shhhh! π€«
π©Ί Facing Challenges
Today, I have an appointment to see my doctor to discuss surgery and when it will happen. I won’t lie — it’s a little nerve-wracking. Honestly, if I didn’t have TJ by my side, being my voice of reason, I’d probably be all over the place emotionally. His calm, steady presence makes everything feel more manageable. Just this morning, he reminded me, “Deep breaths, coffee, and maybe don’t Google the worst-case scenario.” I couldn’t have asked for a better support system.
π️ Poetry Dreams Coming True
On a brighter note, I’m finally wrapping up my poetry book! I’m just about done deciding which poems will make the final cut, and it feels surreal to see it all coming together. This has been a dream of mine for so long, and TJ deserves credit too — he’s been the one gently encouraging me to realize that my work has meaning.
Since it’s Halloween week, here’s one of my favorite poems from the book:
The Love I Found When I Found You
I didn’t know I was waiting
until you walked in—
quietly,
like a sunrise I hadn’t noticed
until the light touched everything.
You loved me without question,
without needing me to be more
than I already was.
And somehow,
that love made me more anyway.
With you,
every glance is a promise,
every touch a reminder
that love doesn’t need to be loud
to last.
It only needs to be real.
You are the breath between my laughter,
the warmth in all my winters,
the dream I didn’t dare speak aloud—come true.
If forever lives anywhere,
it lives here:
in the quiet way your hand finds mine,
in the smile meant only for me,
in the life we are still writing—together.
πΈ Small Joys
Life has a way of surprising us in ways we never imagined. For me, this year has been about love, growth, creativity, and gratitude. It’s been about small joys — cozy mornings with coffee, Landen’s laughter in his pajamas, TJ’s little jokes that always make me smile, and quiet evenings reflecting on the life I’m building with people I deeply care about.
π Happy Halloween!
Here’s to Halloween week, to love, to creativity, and to embracing the little moments that make life so sweet. Stay tuned for more updates — including the launch of my poetry book soon!
And to all the kiddos out there… try not to eat too much candy! π
Happy Halloween, everyone! ππ»
