Embracing Change: From Endings and Beginnings to New Adventures

Embracing Change: From Endings and Beginnings to New Adventures

It's been a whirlwind of emotions, milestones, and significant life changes since I last sat down to write. From bittersweet goodbyes to exciting new chapters, and the ever-present journey of health, life certainly keeps us on our toes.

The End of an Era: Honoring the Dever's Legacy

This is a tough one to write, but it's important to acknowledge. The Dever, a place that has been so much more than just a school for so many, is closing its doors. For generations of families, including mine, the Dever has been a cornerstone of the community, a place where countless children learned, grew, and found their footing.

It's a bittersweet moment, filled with sadness for the loss of such a vital institution, but also immense gratitude for the legacy it leaves behind. The Dever fostered a sense of belonging, nurtured young minds, and played an undeniable role in shaping the lives of its students and their families. To every teacher, staff member, and administrator who poured their heart into the Dever's mission, and to every student who walked its halls, thank you. Your impact will continue to resonate for years to come. While its physical doors may close, the spirit and lessons of the Dever will forever be a part of Boston's history and the memories of those it served.

A New Chapter in Love: Finding My Person

Amidst all the changes, my heart has found a wonderful new direction. I'm so incredibly happy to share that I've found a new love, someone truly special who has brought so much joy, understanding, and light into my life. After everything I've navigated, finding this connection feels like a beautiful new beginning, a testament to hope and the possibility of finding happiness again. It's a relationship built on genuine connection and mutual support, and I'm so grateful for every moment.

My Boy, the Graduate! From 6th Grade and Beyond!

Speaking of new beginnings, my incredible son just hit a huge milestone: he graduated from 6th grade! I honestly can't believe how quickly time flies. It feels like just yesterday I was writing about him starting K2, and now he's officially a middle schooler.

This past year, as always, has presented its unique set of challenges for him, but he tackled them with such resilience and spirit. Watching him grow, learn, and overcome hurdles fills my heart with immense pride. He's becoming such a bright, intelligent, and compassionate young man, and I'm beyond excited to see all that he will achieve as he steps into this next chapter. Congratulations, my love! Your hard work and determination never cease to amaze me.

Facing Forward: Upcoming Surgery

Life's journey, as we know, also brings its share of physical challenges. As I continue to navigate my ongoing spinal issues, I'm facing an upcoming surgery. While I've battled back from many health setbacks, this one feels significant. The pain from my moderate/severe facet issues, bone spurs, and disc bulges has been relentless, impacting my daily life in profound ways. I'm holding onto hope that this procedure will bring the much-needed relief to improve my quality of life and allow me to be fully present for all the beautiful moments ahead. Your prayers and positive thoughts are always appreciated as I prepare for this next step.

Through endings, new beginnings, proud moments, and ongoing battles, life continues its beautiful, messy, and unpredictable dance. I'm grateful for every lesson, every joy, and every challenge that makes me stronger. Thank you for being a part of this journey with me.
